Baby Miro Mercer

This crib is very unique, modern, and beautiful without having a hefty price tag. I wanted a crib that was function as well as modern looking without payiin an arm and a leg. This crib met my needs perfectly.

Being 5′1″ I found that this crib is a great size. If meets just above my waist. It is easy for me to put my son in and get him out of the crib with its height. Other standard cribs are difficult for me. I also love the storage provided by the drawer underneath the bed. It is a great place to keep extra crib sheets and blankets!

Baby Bjorn Travel Crib

August 9th, 2011

I really think Baby Bjorn should send me a new bed or a check for free, because I endorse this crib so much! Every time I hear of someone expecting a baby, I mention this crib to them, even if I don’t know the people. Most think that the only bed for travel is a pack and play but there are other options, and the only way I found out about the Baby Bjorn myself was by doing tons of research. I hated using the pack and play with my first baby, but this product wasn’t out then. Pack and plays are so big and bulky and take forever to put up and take down (time that I don’t have, especially with a baby).

Davinci Annabelle

August 2nd, 2011

After researching for days to find the best portable crib, I chose the DaVinci Annabelle for 2 reasons:

1. I am very happy with the DaVinci Anastasia crib that I currently have, and

2. It is a reasonably priced bed.

I looked at the collapsible cribs in stores and didn’t feel as though any of them were sturdy enough to hold a baby. I purchased this crib for an extended stay at my grandparents’ house. The baby slept wonderfully!

I recommend that you use this crib with a breathable baby bumper because it will fit great. Also, use the DaVinci coil mattress because it is very comfortable for the baby and comparable to full size crib mattresses.

Davinci Kalani Baby Crib

July 26th, 2011

Be sure to read the direction carefully. I had to take it apart and restart a few different times since I tried to assemble it without following the instructions. The main instructions are in French, but the fine print is in English.

The instructions can be found in a small plastic envelope on the metal frame which holds the mattress. This is a great place to store then so you can refer to them later if you decide to convert the crib into a twin bed and use the toddler rail that comes with it. There is no chances of having to search the directions later if you keep them here.

Baby Trend Expedition LX Travel System

When I had my baby shower two years ago, I was lucky enough to get my 2008 model as a gift. I was able to assemble it myself quite easily. I have been regularly using it ever since then. I normally jog about ten to twelve miles every week, and I am happy to say that it is still working like new. I enjoy jogging up quite a few hills, and I must say the jogger would maneuver a lot easier if it had a useful hand break. It works equally well in the countryside as it does in town, on the beach and even on camping. The snap and go car seat was really great for my son when he was smaller, and now that I have another baby this car seat is still working well. We are now on the lookout for a nifty double jogger that I can use, but for now I am using this jogger while hubby watches our other son.

Baby slings/carriers - Which have you found the best?

July 24th, 2009

I’m looking for something that will be easy to use for my baby due in November!

A wrap or sling is better for baby’s spine/hips. I used a sleepy wrap, and could carry my 20lbs+ son about for ages, the tying takes a little bit of getting used to, but it’s much less difficult than I’d imagined. I wished I’d used it since birth as he’d have been much more used to it, I only used it a little bit as he was older and wouldn’t stay in it for as long as I’d hoped.

I’d get another if I ever had another baby - have now given the sleepy wrap to my sister for her baby due in July.

When did you change the baby car seat for a booster seat?

July 24th, 2009

I’m sure my son is ready for a booster seat - its almost impossible to squash him into the baby car seat any longer - but when I was looking on the net for booster seats they said from age 4 - and hes not quite 3…
He only weighs 27lb… but he is really tall!

my girls were 3 and 4 when we switched to the booster seats with the attatable backs. Those had a weight requirement of atleast 30 pounds, and that is only with the back on. A normal booster seat was 40 pounds. I would go by the weight limit, better be safe than sorry.

baby carriers for plus size parents?

July 24th, 2009

Hello! Thanks for taking time to read this question! Your input is greatly appreciated! I am 31 weeks pregnant with my second child and i have become facinated by the concept of baby wearing. I have looked at several sling and pouch style baby carriers but most of them seem to be made for average size parents. If anyone has a good reccomendation for a baby carrier made for plus size parents or maybe a pattern to make one i would appreciate it! Thanks again!

This one is called the Active Spirit baby sling and it fits EVERYONE, go to the website and take a look at the photos section. There is a picture of every shape and size of parent! It’s wonderful, and you personalize the fabrics you want! Take a look and read about them! Congratulations!!!

I make and sell baby carriers?

July 24th, 2009

Hey everyone! I handmake baby carriers and sell them locally and online, i do custom and premade orders, and i would just LOVE if you could give me your opinions on sling style baby carriers, mei tai style carriers, and your favorite fabric patterns and prints.

I will choose a best answer =]

THE absolute best wrap ever for me (i’m short and dumpy) is the one at http://www.mamankangourou.ca

the wide coverage down both arms means zero stress on the shoulders and neck and because it is infinitly adjustable, there’s zero stress on the back if you’ve done it right.

very simple to make: it’s 16ft of 22" wide fabric.

mine was jersey - t-shirt fabric - and while that was superb when she was wee, it’s no good now that she’s whoa.

i don’t know anything about fabric but if i could, i’d get one in maybe a silk - i’ve been told that silk has very high tensile strength while still having a bit of give and breathability for comfort.

i’d have it reversible: dark one side, very light the other - on cold days, i’d wear it dark side out so it would help keep baby warm. on hot days, i’d wear it light side out to repel the heat from the sun’s rays.

and definitey pockets - not just one huge open pound, either: one largish pouch for things like my wallet, with a closure easy to operate one-handed. then a bunch of smaller pouches for cell phone, TTC tickets, house keys, and the other little things you need to grab. having a lot of smaller pockets would reduce the blind fumbling through pocket and purse.

hmmmm… what else would be cool would be a section that’s made of the same stuff the uber-muslim women wear over their eyes: that way, the baby can see out but be more or less protected from the sun and prying ppl. also better air circulation.
