Graco Snugride

I chose this model infant seat because it is really lightweight. It weighs merely 7lbs (without the base and the baby). EPS foam lines the seat in-between the plastic and fabric that the infant sits on. The fabrics clean easily and come in colors that I wanted - black, and orange/beige accent color. There is a super soft velvet fabric that comes in beige. It has a foot cover that is removable which is great for those winter months or for visiting the park. Shoulder straps covers as well as the head support are removable. This is great for throwing into the washer. The removable canopy is a bit flimsy, but comes with a top peephole so you can keep an eye on baby. It took my husband just 5 minutes to install the base after reading the clear instructions. All in all, I like the car seat and recommend it to all my friends.

Graco Safeseat

For my car, the Graco Safe seat must be installed in the middle, instead of behind the passenger seat. I own a Subaru Impreza wagon and even with the car seat in the middle, you still must move both front seats a little farther forward than I would prefer.  However, there are some definite advantages to the seats as well.

*The base of the seat is really simple to install since it is equipped with a latch system. Personally, we decided to purchase two bases, but with the ease of removing it this is not necessary. Of course, if you must use the car seat in different cars frequently you may want to go ahead and invest in the second base! If you are shuffling once a week or less, the second base is definitely optional.

Graco Nautilus

Even though Consumer Reports rates Evenflo car seas really well, my husband and I have never really been impressed with their use, they were not exactly easy! Thankfully, it is time for my daughter to graduate from the 40 lb. limit seat she has now and we wanted to find a replacement that would grow as she does, until she no longer needs a safety seat. The Graco Nautilus is the perfect choice!

Before selecting this particular car seat, I took the time to do some research. I was going to need three new car seats, one for my husband’s care and mine and an extra for the babysitter. However, I wanted to try out a seat before purchasing the other two.

Pros:

1. To start the seat looks great and feels well made. This car seat is very good-sized, but not too big to fit well in the car. I also noticed that the cup holder and arms are both built well; many seats have flimsy cup holders and weak arms.

I like this overall, but the only problem I have is that when this is facing rear, the passenger seat has to be pulled pretty far out.  You can get the baby out of the seat pretty easily.  It looks good — it does fit well even in a large car.  So far, my daughter doesn’t mind going on to car trips as much.  I would recommend this car seat for the baby that is getting too big for the infant car seat.

Britax Marathon Car Seat

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

When I’m shopping for baby products, I look for safety ratings and also design.  This product meets all of my requirements.  This is a convertible car seat is designed for children facing the rear, up to 40 pounds.  It supports them facing forward up to 70 pounds. There are a lot of technology features designed to protect the baby in a car crash.  This will make any mother feel a lot more confident that in case she’s in a car crash her baby will be safe.  Not only this, but the design is to keep baby safe from any direction that the car might be crashed.  On top of all the safety features, it’s very easy to install with instructions.  For my money, I think this is the safest car seat on the market.  I’m definitely telling all my friends and family that this is the car seat that they should use.

Britax Boulevard 70 Convertible Car Seat

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

When I’m looking for any kind of product for my child, I look at safety first, durability second and finally, the design. The Britax Marathon 70 convertible car seat outperformed all the others I’d looked at on all three counts. This seat can comfortably accommodate children weighing up to 40 lbs when installed rear facing and up to 70 lbs when installed forward facing. I thought that this was a great thing, since I’ll be able to use the seat until my daughter outgrows car seats entirely - and the attractive color doesn’t hurt either.

We feel a lot more secure knowing that the Safecell technology used in the Marathon 70 means that the seat will compress in the event of a crash, which lowers its center of gravity and helps prevent propelling children forward from the impact. This is further reduced by steel bars integrated into the seat. Along with deep sides lined with EPP foam to absorb the energy of an impact and distribute the force, this car seat provides protection on all sides.

When did you change the baby car seat for a booster seat?

Friday, July 24th, 2009

I’m sure my son is ready for a booster seat - its almost impossible to squash him into the baby car seat any longer - but when I was looking on the net for booster seats they said from age 4 - and hes not quite 3…
He only weighs 27lb… but he is really tall!

my girls were 3 and 4 when we switched to the booster seats with the attatable backs. Those had a weight requirement of atleast 30 pounds, and that is only with the back on. A normal booster seat was 40 pounds. I would go by the weight limit, better be safe than sorry.

Where can I find a black leather baby car seat?

Friday, July 24th, 2009

I’m looking for a baby car seat made out of black leather(fake leather is ok)
It’ a gift for a friend that has black leather seats, so i thought this would look good in his car.
I know I’ve seen them before but i can’t seem to find them now that I’m looking for them.
Target has an Eddie Bower one that is nice… but i an looking for a more leather look…

Any help is appreciated!
ok. Thanks for the info.
I’ve never gone baby shopping before. Didn’t realize it was a bad idea.

I agree with Heather. A leather car seat is NOT practical at all!

Try finding just a black car seat. I’m sure you’d find much more results with that search.

two boosters and a baby car seat in a medium sized car?

Friday, July 24th, 2009

I need to fit three kids car seats into my peugeot 307 (two boosters and a baby seat). The problem is that their combined width is greater than the width of the back seat.I have looked around, but most seats seem to be of similiar width.Does anyone know of a slimline range of safety seats?
I really don’t want to buy a new car to solve this temporary problem
its not really the seat part which causes the problem, more the styling wings, arms and cup holders which makes the whole thing too wide to fit across a normal car seat. The only solution seems to buy a van like people carrier which are wider than a standard car. There must be a better solution

John Lewis and Halfords both have good ranges and offer sound adcvice.
