Recommendations for or Warnings Against Baby Carriers?

I am shopping for a baby carrier for my first child. I have been told that "BabyTrekker" is the ultimate, but I would like to get other opinions.

Would you please give me any for or against opinions on carriers?

That looks complicated! I have heard that the pack style carriers cause pelvis and hip pain in the baby. I had a Snugli, but it’s been replaced by a Maya Wrap, and I would never go back! For me, it was the right combination of easy and adjustable. I can tighten it just the way I need to for my baby, and I have used many positions. My friend loves her Ultimate Baby Wrap, but her baby does droop because the material is stretchy. If you want to carry baby on two shoulders, a wrap is the way to go. Asian back carriers also use both shoulders.

I used a Snugli. It was fine. Just don’t bend at the waist, you have to squat for the baby can fall out!

I really liked my baby sling! I tried a carrier when my oldest was little. I was hard to get on. Hard to get off and hard to nurse a baby in.

Slings slip on slip of and are very nursing friendly.

My tastes have changed with each baby but I have liked both padded and non padded slings.

I didn’t care for a baby carrier — I’m short and it impeded walking and it was hard to get him into it by myself and I kept banging him into everything. So I gave up on it.
