Baby carriers, slings which is best, safest for baby?
I want to purchase a baby carrier or sling. There are so many around that its impossible to choose. I would love some help.
We bought a Moby Wrap when our son was just home from the hospital. It was fantastic - kept him close and safe and let us walk around. (The only con is that you can’t really take it with you and wrap it on - it would hang on the floor.) Then we bought an Ergo when he was older. Even now, at 18 months, he will go in it once in a while. It is absolutely the most comfortable carrier we tried (and we tried a lot)! For infants, you need a special insert with the Ergo. We didn’t use that, since my son was already big enough to go in without it when we purchased it.

I use a Sasha wrap. You can gooogle sasha inspirations and it will be the first link that comes up, they’re amazing & they can be used as your baby grow - even into toddler years. They’re very gentle on the joints, and absolutely wonerful!
*Wanted to add that for the first 6 weeks I was able to breastfeed with my wrap. Very useful. My daughter is 6 months old & I still use it around the house, at the mall, walking the dog, ect ect!

when they are infants, make sure it is a sling, until they can hold their heads up on their own, then you can switch to a carrier

i also recommend a sling! Its very good for around the house etc and i find them to be much more stylish than those ugly baby front packs or backpacks… yuk.
Also baby is so close to you that he doesnt get fussy as much, and stay warm because he directly absorbs your body heat!!!
I have a sling … and i love it already! Cant wait to use it!!

Personally my favorite of all the ones I tried was the sling from mommasmilk.com. It is comfortable and easy to adjust, I wore my little ones around all day, even doing house work, and it never bothered me.

I had a Snugli for the first while. It was great. I also used a sling carrier when he got a bit older. Snugli has a bunch of straps, but you don’t have to support baby. A sling will hold baby into toddler years, but you still have to use an arm to make sure baby doesn’t fall out.
I liked them both. The sling lasts longer & is more compact (I’d have it underneath the stroller for when he wanted to be carried. Or it fits into a diaper bag.)
