Are there baby carriers like infant car seats?
I was just wondering if there was something like an infant car seat, but it was just a baby carrier? Like a easy portable bassinet?
My husband and I already have a car seat but it doesn’t have a handle or anything that you can pop out and take it with you.
Links would be appreciated if available! Thanks
If you’re just looking for something easy for baby to sleep in sometimes around the house, a Moses Basket is a great idea, but will only last a few months before its outgrown. Since its coming to light that babies spend WAY Too much time in contraptions like infant car seat, swings, bouncers, etc, anyways, I would highly recommend checking out a pouch, sling, or wrap to carry your baby in. Skip the Snugli and Baby Bjorns. They’re outgrown at 22-25lbs, so you get very little use out of them for how much they cost, they’re rather ugly contraptions to wear, and have a lot of buckles and adjusting to be done each time.
You can’t get easier than a pouch - put it on, put baby in. No adjustment required if you get a pouch that fits you right. Although there are some adjustable ones. For the most versatility, check out a wrap, really just a l-o-n-g piece of material that you can wrap around yourself in many many different ways to carry your baby in different positions. Using a wrap takes a little more time to master, but gives the most versatiliyt. A Ring sling is an option, too. There are oodles of benefits to babywearing, one of which is to be able to keep your hands free while giving your baby the human contact he needs to develop well and be a secure individual. You can even breastfeed in a carrier.

Um, you can try one of the many baby carriers you wear!! LOL
The benefits of babywearing are great and numerous.
I personally used a Bjorn for a while but much prefer my Moby and Babyhawk.

There’s not really. They used to make them and they were often called pumpkin seats, but they don’t make them anymore because carrying babies around in their carseat is too popular. Which is sad because removable infant seats aren’t really any safer in the car and are definitly bad for baby out of the car. The primary concern with carseats is safety during a crash, not proper spine alignment. And they have limited padding, and are really too confining.
The options to replace them are:
Cloth style carriers that you put on you (slings, wraps, mei teis, structured carriers)
Portable swings (some of them aren’t too bad to carry around)
Strollers (you can get small umbrella strollers that recline OR you can get strollers with a detachable portable bassinette part, but they are pretty big. Honestly the only one I saw in person I though "Woah I could fit my toddler and baby in that bassinette comfortably")
