Any thoughts on baby carriers?

I am carrying my son about in an infantino baby carrier….and it seems to me that we are both just too small for it..He is sleeping and seems to enjoy it enough, but his head keeps falling forward onto my chest (stomach, rather) and it looks really uncomfortable :( Are they supposed to be like this?

when the babies are tiny, they dont fit well, he will grow into it and be able to easier control his head, and you should be able to face him outwards as well, my son loves that ! :)

Infantino also makes a sling, so maybe you could give that a try in the meantime? They’re only like 20 bucks or something at WalMart.

I don’t know, we got two thinking they would be great to use. We never used them at all.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the sling, i actually got the one from target…..it’s by infantino too. but i am looking online for other ones that wrap, or a ring sling (ebay) in different prints i carry her around the house in it and clean. and when going out people can’t see her (and they look at me like i have a fannie pack on lol) and breathe on her……they are the best thing ever. it’s really like being in the womb, she’s carried tight and low and sways when i walk like she would have inside me, well it comes close. it could be time for her to eat and she still sleeps while in this…

I hated the Infantino carrier I had. If your baby is a newborn, a sling or a wrap is a great option. My personal favorite for once they get past the newborn stage is a mei tai.

When my baby was tiny I carried him inside a sling and I started using my Baby Bjorn (carrier) when he was a bit bigger, like around 6 weeks/2months. When he was 3 months I started putting him in facing the other way (the rule of thumb is that they have to be able to hold their own head up) and he loves it. He’s always loved being carried much more than his stroller.
Make sure all the straps are adjusted properly to the current height and weight of your baby, so he’s resting more on your chest than your stomach.
If he falls asleep in the carrier and is not fussing, I take it he’s quite comfy.

Congrats on your new baby boy and good luck!

I love my wraps and my Mei-Tai style carriers. Although it is a strange term, there are a number of "baby wearing" websites with information about all sorts of carriers.
