How do I choose a baby car seat?
I am having my first child and would like a baby car seat that is safe and legal. A few friends and family have recommended Maxi Cosi car seats but there isn’t a lot of info on their website. Does anybody have experience with this brand or where could I find more info or reviews.
Thanks
Sandra
Hi Congratulations. Yes Maxi Cosi have a good reputation and I know a few friends and family who have used them and they are quite pleased.
My partner recently bought a Maxi Cosi CabrioFix for our daughter from this site http://maxicosibabycarseat.com. They have some good advice and a good selection and all the products link to Amazon so its quite safe and ours arrived within a couple of days.
Which ever site or car seat you choose I hope all goes well for you.

I always have bought Britax they have one that goes from newborn up until 4 years old, they are meant to be one of the best for safety and they are comfortable to for the baby… Britax are meant to be the most tested car seat as far as I have heard… also this one will last until they are 4 and you can have them rear facing (which is safer for the baby) for as long as you want…
this is an example of one..

well if u want an infant carrier, we have a graco ’safeseat’ that holds up to thirty pounds; dd is petite and at a year still fits in nicely; britax is a great brand! they are really safe as well….they make infant seats and convertible seats; although the conv seats say they hold five lb babies, i don’t see how, bc when she was a average sized nb, she looked like a flea in the infant seat with a snuzzler…..

One of the first things you can do is input your car into this website to find fit rating for different seats in your car. http://www.carseatdata.org/ Then, on the same website, click on the tab at the top that says "buying guide" that will give you information on what to look for in a seat. Consumer Reports does an annual test and rating of safety seats so that is another resource you can use. This site: http://www.carseat.org/ is a great resource with tons of information (be sure to spend some time reading the FAQs on why rear facing is so important even after the 1 year/20lb mark). Then, when you’re getting ready to buy, check out the seat on sites like Amazon that have customer reviews to see what actual users say about the seat.
