1. Be sure to read the direction carefully. I had to take it apart and restart a few different
times since I tried to assemble it without following the instructions. The main instructions are in French, but the
fine print is in English.
The instructions can be found in a small plastic envelope on the metal frame which holds the
mattress. This is a great place to store then so you can refer to them later if you decide to convert the crib into
a twin bed and use the toddler rail that comes with it. There is no chances of having to search the directions
later if you keep them here.
The crib seems to have a hint of cherry in the color, but it works well with the other espresso
furniture in my baby's nursery.
It is a very sturdy piece of furniture and didn't come with any scratches or dents. It looks good
enough to last until it is a regular bed. Cannot wait to use it.
2. I wanted to buy the DaVinci Kalani Convertible Crib in Espresso before my baby was born, but
wasn't able to because our home was too small. Now that my child is 9 months old, we have finally ordered it. It
took a while to arrive and the delivery date kept being altered, but we were very happy when it finally got here.
The assembly instructions were a bit confusing, but my husband still had it put together within an hour. It came
with a few small nicks in the wood, but they aren't very noticeable. It is a beautiful crib and the finish is nice.
It seems to be very strong, and my husband even put it to a shake test. I thought it may dent or scratch easily,
but so far, nothing! We purchased the MBD Twilight Crib Mattress to use in it and it fits very snugly. It would be
very hard to for baby to end up between the crib and the mattress.
Since we got it, we are really loving the crib and my son sleeps good in it. We have received
several compliments on it. The only aspect that bothers me a little is that all of the hardware can be seen. It
doesn't have any screw covers, but I may have to get some if we convert it into a regular bed in the future. I can
see use using this bed for a long time, which makes it well worth the price.
3. I purchased this crib for my sister's baby and she told me that she absolutely loves it. It did
take a couple hours to assemble and it seemed a little pricey considering it didn't include a mattress. However, we
wanted top of the line so we went with it. After buying, a friend informed me I could have gotten one much cheaper
by going to Wal-Mart, but I'm not sure how safe or cheaply made they are there.
