Reviews of the Chicco Cortina KeyFit 30 Travel System

It took my husband and I forever to look for a stroller. We went through several of them before turning to the
Chicco Cortina KeyFit 30 Travel System. The biggest reason we decided to go this route was because of the way it
folded up. The majority of the strollers out there will fold down to the ground, but this one folds up. It means no
bending down to pick anything up, which happens to be extra work for me. Plus you're able to push it to a
destination as opposed to carrying it. It's the only option that lays flat with a little piece of security. This
allows your baby to sleep peacefully without sliding down. If you enjoy cup holders it's nice to know they can be
cleaned, and there is a huge opening for the diaper bag. It makes it a lot easier to get things out of the back and
everything will fit easily into the stroller.
If you compare most of the other strollers out there it weighs much less. I have a friend who owns a Graco, but she
doesn't like it at all. One of the biggest reasons is because of the back wheels. They tend to come out a little
further than the front, so it's hard to gauge yourself going down wide isles. The best part is that it's rated the
highest for safety.I couldn't be happier than I am with the KeyFit 30 Travel System. When you install the car seat
it's very easy to do and there are built-in levels. This makes the base and height adjustment features easier for
proper installation. It's an extremely smooth ride, is well-balanced, so the baby won't be jostled during any ride.
It can also turn tight corners and work silently in the process.
We've had this for over 7 months and I am still happy with it. However, after the recent rains I am beginning to
notice that the wheels are beginning to squeak when they turn. The good news is it only took a few sprays of WD40
and a couple rotations before the noise was gone. I can't stress enough how easy it is to transport in and out of
the car, which is great when you're in a hurry. When we first bought the car seat our infant was too big. So we
really haven't had a chance to use it. We bought it for the stroller, but since the package comes with both we
decided to sell the car seat.
Whether you need both or not, the stroller is amazing all on its own. It provided us with all the necessities,
especially since we didn't want a huge stroller or anything. Then again; we didn't want a small one either, so like
little red riding hood "this one was just right." My son is pretty big at 9 months old, so it was surprising to
hear that someone said their child didn't get in it. Well, I would really like to see that myself, because as big
as my son is he fit comfortably.
Overall this is our 3rd stroller, not counting the hand-me-downs we've received over the years (six total).
Needless to say; this stroller turns easier, rides better, and has a lot more adjustment features and amenities
available. I honestly wish we purchased this before we got the other two strollers from year's past. Oh well; you
live and learn right?
Another benefit is the lockable front wheels that don't rotate. It's a great feature, especially if you're
rocking your baby to sleep while standing in line at the store. When the wheels just rotate it drives me to no end,
which is why I absolutely love this feature!
1. Throughout my pregnancy, I couldn't make up my mind about deciding which carseat to buy. I now know I made
the right decision. Even after having a Caesarian and a beautiful nine pound baby I do not have any problems when I
carry her around. The carseat is light and the straps tighten and loosen easily so that we can lift her out while
she is still sleeping. One of the best things about this car seat is the fact that it snaps quietly and easily out
of and into the base inside our vehicle. Our baby doesn't even wake up when we are getting her in and also out of
our car!
The material on the cover is not quite my cup of tea, but it cleans up pretty well. All in all, I would
certainly recommend this seat.
2. I did LOADS of research about which car seat I would get for our newborn son. Based on the research I did it
seems that this carseat is really great. After I had bought it, I agreed with everything that had been said with
regards this seat. It is lightweight, easy to put your baby in and take him out, and seemingly rather comfy as my
little son sleeps VERY well when in the car seat. The one setback of this carseat is that my newborn's back will
get very warm while in the car seat. Maybe the materials that are used aren't breathable enough. I thought I would
just mention this. Fortunately we haven't seen the car seat handle a crash, but I can only assume that it would
adequately protect my baby. If you are looking for a carseat that is affordable and simple to use, I would highly
recommend it.
3. We have been using the Chicco Keyfit from the day our daughter was born. It's a great seat, but we find the
carrier a bit heavier than other brands in the market. The seat, though, has some good padding which reassures you
that your baby is a bit more protected in case there's an accident. The installation went smoothly with the easy
LATCH system. The car seat was fitted perfectly in our '08 Toyota's middle backseat without pushing the front seat
too far forward. This seat was recommended by me to friends of ours whose wife had recently given birth, and they
also love it.
4. We have been using this car seat for the past year now. My son just loves to ride in it. We install this seat
in different vehicles and we find it simple to use. We do not make use of that latch system and only use the safety
belt, but it's quite easy to figure this carseat out. A real downside is the small canopy, and we find it a real
problem in keeping the sun from our little boy's eyes. Nevertheless, I would more than likely choose to purchase
this car seat again. I saw that there had been issues with other reviewers about the canopy even before I purchased
the carseat, but so far everything else has been great so I'm glad I bought it. My son has now turned one and has
grown out of the carseat because of the length, and has about nine lbs to go before he reaches the 30 lbs. I
probably would not have picked the travel system myself, but I bought it so that it would match our car seat. I
like the color because it's non-offensive. We have had to wash the cover a couple of times because of accidents,
but luckily it's washable. I really love the newborn baby ‘pillow' inserts that came together with the seat, and
they really helped in supporting our son.
