1. When I'm looking for any kind of product for my child, I look at safety first, durability second and finally,
the design. The Britax Marathon 70 convertible car seat outperformed all the others I'd looked at on all three
counts. This seat can comfortably accommodate children weighing up to 40 lbs when installed rear facing and up to
70 lbs when installed forward facing. I thought that this was a great thing, since I'll be able to use the seat
until my daughter outgrows car seats entirely - and the attractive color doesn't hurt either.
We feel a lot more secure knowing that the Safecell technology used in the Marathon 70 means that the seat will
compress in the event of a crash, which lowers its center of gravity and helps prevent propelling children forward
from the impact. This is further reduced by steel bars integrated into the seat. Along with deep sides lined with
EPP foam to absorb the energy of an impact and distribute the force, this car seat provides protection on all
sides.
It's also easy to install; it went right in the first time I used it in my car. The instructions were easy to
read and perfectly straightforward. Combined with its safety and durability, I feel confident about recommending
this car seat to everyone I know who has or is planning to have a child or grandchild.
2. I picked this seat once my son started to get too big for his old infant car seat and we've been using it for
about a month now. It was a snap to install, got great ratings for safety and it appears to be exceptionally
durable - and our son seems to be very comfortable with the Boulevard 70. This car seat might not be the right
choice for every parent, depending on the type of vehicle they have; however, we have a 2010 VW Passat and it fits
perfectly fine in our car without pushing the front seats forward.
3. I looked at a lot of different convertible car seats before deciding on this model. Naturally, safety was my
top criteria and as far as safety is concerned, Britax has an excellent reputation. The seat can be installed
either rear or forward facing, which means it's safer and more convenient. My child seems comfortable in the seat
and it's built very sturdily as well.
Really, the only downside I found with this car seat is that it wasn't all that easy to extend the harness and
recline the seat the first time around; I've since figured it all out, but parents should keep in mind that there
is a little bit of a learning curve with this car seat.
4. My toddler has been using a Britax car seat for a few years now and I was pretty sure that the Boulevard 70
would be a good choice for my infant. Sure, it's a relatively large and heavy seat, but it has features which make
up for its size and weight. For one, it is easier to adjust the shoulder straps on this model compared to even
other Britax car seats. All you need to do is to squeeze the handle and slide it up or down. There's also
additional padding included to make sure that smaller children are safe and comfortable in the seat. It's a great
car seat all in all, the only thing I can say that detracts from it is just that it's large and takes up a lot of
room in the back seat, particularly when it's installed facing the rear.
